Get those drinks and snacks ready because today marks the day of the 58th NFL Super Bowl! Kicking off at 6:30 p.m. at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, it is sure to be an exciting game between two teams boasting efficient offenses and elite defenses. We’ve got you covered for what kind of weather to expect for the big game.
The Super Bowl is traditionally always played by the winners of the American Football Conference (AFC), who are represented this year by the Kansas City Chiefs, and the National Football Conference (NFC), who are represented this year by the San Francisco 49ers. This game also marks a rematch of Super Bowl 54 in which the Chiefs came out on top by a score of 31-20.
Led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is seeking his third Super Bowl ring, Kansas City will be looking to defend their title after winning last year’s Super Bowl and become just the 7th NFL franchise to win four or more Super Bowls. San Fransisco on the other hand, led by quarterback Brock Purdy, will be seeking revenge against the Chiefs, as well as their first Super Bowl win in 29 years. A win would also tie them for the most Super Bowl wins among NFL franchises with six.
You may be seeing many shots Taylor Swift while watching the game, but something you will not be seeing any shots of is rain, or any type of foul weather for that matter. This is mainly because Allegiant Stadium is a domed stadium, meaning the game is played in a climate-controlled environment, free from any elements that may be occurring outside. Though, even folks tailgating the game or attending festivities outside the stadium will be treated to some fairly pleasant weather.
Temperatures will be on the cooler side, hovering in the 40s for much of the day, but by kickoff time the expected temperature in and around Las Vegas will warm up into the low 50s with a light breeze. High pressure is expected to settle in over the region after a storm system moved out of the Southwest, making way for mostly clear skies today.
