While summer is winding down, the season isn't over yet. Take a look at some of the activities you could partake in this summer.
Hit the beach. Probably the most obvious and popular summer activity is to cool down by the water. The beach provides great relief from summertime heat but be sure to apply sunblock and watch out for rip currents in the water.
Go camping. Summer nights often don’t get too chilly, so camping is a great way to get out of the house and enjoy nature. Make sure to check the weather forecast before heading camping to avoid any dangers such as thunderstorms.
Head to the fair. Many carnivals and state fairs are held during the summer. With amusement rides returning and crowds gathering, the fair is a fun way to enjoy a summer evening.
Take a trip to the mountains. The mountains offer a spread of summertime activities from hiking to rafting on nearby rivers and even catching a game of regular or disc golf. Cooler weather is also often found in higher elevations, so you may be able to escape the heat! Not to be outdone, the large canopy of trees in the mountains help block much solar radiation and further reduce the chance of a sunburn after sunblock has been applied.
Have a picnic. If you are looking to stay close to home but enjoy the outdoors, plan a meal outside and find shade to avoid the strong summer sun and heat.
These are just a few fun activities to enjoy this summer. Always make sure to stay hydrated and check the forecast from WeatherBug before heading outdoors!
