Halloween Trick-or-Treat Forecast Outlook

Expansive high pressure will lead to a favorable forecast any ghouls and goblins heading outdoors for trick-or-treating for Halloween tonight. Still, there are a still a few scary areas to be on the lookout for.

First up for trick-or-treating will be those across the eastern U.S. on tonight. Thanks to a passing weather system, rain showers will soak any witches and warlocks across the Lower Great Lakes, Midwest and Ohio and Tennessee Valley. Places likes Boos, Ill., Dead Mans Crossing, Ind., Devils Lake, Mich., and Candy Town, Ohio, will all need to pack umbrellas. The Mid-Atlantic and Southeast will also be in for a wild night, with showers and thunderstorms likely. This includes Devils Cross Roads, S.C., Pumpkin Center, N.C., Screamersville, Va., Spook Hill, Md., Slaughter Beach, Del., and Hershey, Pa.

A warm front could lead to problematic weather across the southern half of Texas for Halloween tonight as well. Raincoats and rain boots might be needed in addition to the kiddos Halloween costumes for cities such as Chocolate Bayou and Pumpkin, Texas.

Spooky weather will be in the forecast for the Northwest and northern Rockies as a large upper-level weather system comes plowing into the region. Rain showers are expected for the lower elevations of Washington, Oregon, northern Idaho and northwestern Montana, while snow will fall in the mountains and higher elevations. This includes Witch Hazel, Ore.

Otherwise, high pressure will allow vampires and monsters to gather their candy under clear skies across the rest of the U.S.

You’ll want to pack the winter coats if you’re headed out in the northern or central Rockies, including places like Devils Slide, Utah, and Spook City, Colo. Here, temperatures will be in the 20s, 30s and 40s.

Dress in extra layers or bring a jacket if you’re in the Northwest, Great Basin, southern Rockies, northern and central Plains, Upper Mississippi Valley, Great Lakes, Midwest, Ohio Valley, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Temperatures will dip into the 40s and 50s while out and about for cities such as Devils Ladder, Idaho, Casper, Wyo., Devils Gap, Neb., Frankenstein, Mo., Munster, Ind., Scary, W. Va., Sleepy Hollow, N.Y., Deadmans Corner, Maine.

It should be more on the milder side to collect candy for California, the Desert Southwest, southern Plains, Lower Mississippi and Tennessee valleys, Deep South and Southeast, with temperatures in the 60s and 70s. This includes Devils Elbow, Calif., Tombstone, Ariz., Black Cat, Ark., Transylvania, La., Skullbone, Tenn., Bloody Springs, Miss., Slaughter Landing, Ala., Treat Mountain, Ga., and Deadman Landing, Fla.
