Winter Holding Tough Across Northern Tier This Weekend

Old Man Winter will hold tough across the northern tier with rounds of snow and ice expected.
A series of storm systems moving along a nearly stationary frontal boundary will snow, sleet, and even freezing rain across portions of the Great Lakes and interior Northeast this weekend.
A pair of disturbances will bring a band of sleet and freezing rain from northern Wisconsin eastward into Michigan. For Maine, a period of snow will continue today as well.
Winter Weather Advisories, Winter Storm Warnings, and Ice Storm Warnings can be found in northern Wisconsin, and portions of northern Michigan and central to northern Maine.
Snow accumulations of 2 to 6 inches will be common from the northern Great Lakes to Maine through Sunday.
Ice totals of over a tenth of an inch will be common from Minnesota into Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and northern Lower Michigan. Ice amounts of 0.25 to 0.50 inches will be possible from northern Wisconsin into Michigan. Localized ice amounts may exceed half an inch in Wisconsin and Michigan, which may cripple power lines and halt travel.
