Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL 206 PM CST Sat Jan 10 2026 La Salle-Grundy-Kankakee-Livingston-Iroquois-Ford-Newton-Jasper- Benton- Including the cities of Ottawa, Streator, La Salle, Mendota, Marseilles, Morris, Coal City, Minooka, Kankakee, Bourbonnais, Bradley, Pontiac, Dwight, Fairbury, Watseka, Gilman, Paxton, Gibson City, Roselawn, Kentland, Morocco, Rensselaer, DeMotte, Fowler, and Oxford 206 PM CST Sat Jan 10 2026 /306 PM EST Sat Jan 10 2026/ ...SNOW AND HAZARDOUS TRAVEL THREAT THIS EVENING... A period of accumulating snow will move west to east across the area between about 6 PM and Midnight. Snow could become heavy at times with quick accumulations of one to two inches (potentially higher in localized corridors) leading to hazardous and rapidly-varying travel conditions, particularly south of a La Salle to Rensselaer line. In addition, winds will occasionally gust between 25 and 35 mph leading to wind-whipped snowfall at times. Motorists should use extra caution this evening and be prepared for rapidly-changing conditions over short distances.
