As of 8 PM, a band of light to moderate snow was moving east across western MN. Surface observations generally reveal visibility reductions between 1-3 miles within the snow band. Various sites have dropped below 1 mile, though this has typically been a short lived occurrence. The combination of falling snow and a dusting to half inch of snow accumulation may create hazardous travel conditions this evening. The band is forecast to slide eastward across south central Minnesota into western Wisconsin overnight. Travelers should prepare for a quick reduction in visibility and slick conditions if encountering the band of snow tonight. Plan ahead and take it slow!
