Temperatures currently in the 30s and 40s across the area will drop sharply overnight, below freezing and into the teens with a cold frontal passage. This may create slick spots on recently rain soaked roads and surfaces, especially if untreated. Remaining rain showers will begin to change over to snow showers from west to east through the early morning hours with minimal accumulations and brief reductions in visibilities. The snow showers may further create slick road conditions throughout the area. Gusty westerly winds will continue with the highest gusts up to 35-40 mph. The gusty winds will drop wind chills to around zero degrees by Friday morning. Motorists should plan for potentially hazardous driving conditions overnight into Friday morning by slowing down and giving more time to reach your destination. If planning on spending time outdoors in the cold, you should dress in layers and cover any exposed skin. Don't forget your pets and livestock by providing shelter from the cold.
