Accumulations tonight through Thursday morning 1 to 2 inches above 7000 feet, and 2 to 4 inches above 8000 feet. Scattered light snow showers, gusty winds, and blowing snow at higher elevations Thursday. Then brief heavy snow showers or squalls Thursday night, with an additional 1 to 2 inches above 5000 feet, and 2 to 4 inches above 6000 feet. * WHERE...Southern Gila Region Highlands/Black Range. * WHEN...From 5 PM this afternoon to 5 AM MST Friday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult, especially at high elevations. Snow squalls Thursday night could produce very heavy snowfall rates and near whiteout conditions over brief periods of time. Snow and blowing snow may impact the morning commute in Silver City on Friday morning. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds may periodically gust over 45 mph, with blowing snow reducing visibility, especially at high elevations near exposed areas.
