Frostbite and hypothermia are likely if exposed to these temperatures. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. &&

-URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Anchorage AK 1144 AM AKST Fri Dec 26 2025 Kuskokwim Delta Coast and Nunivak Island-Interior Kuskokwim Delta- Western Capes- Including the cities of Kasigluk, Goodnews Bay, Bethel, Akiachak, Kipnuk, Kwethluk, Quinhagak, Toksook Bay, Platinum, and Mekoryuk 1144 AM AKST Fri Dec 26 2025 ...BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM AKST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected to continue through this evening. Additional snow accumulations up to 5 inches from Quinhagak to the Western Capes. Northerly winds gusting as high as 55 mph. * WHERE...Kuskokwim Delta and Western Capes. * WHEN...Until 11 PM AKST this evening. * IMPACTS...Visibilities reduced to one quarter mile or less due to blowing snow. Travel could be very difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Confidence is highest for heavy snow and blowing snow to continue through this evening from Quinhagak south to the Western Capes. North of Quinhagak, snow is expected to begin to taper off from north to south this afternoon. Gusty winds may continue to loft snow on the ground and significantly reduce visibilities through this afternoon. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely.
