For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 8 to 10 feet expected in the surf zone. * WHERE...Ocracoke Island and Hatteras Island. * WHEN...From 1 AM to 1 PM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Localized ocean overwash possible, which could impact portions of NC-12, especially around high tide (7 AM this morning). Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed.
