Special Weather Statement
-Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Juneau AK 310 PM AKST Mon Feb 2 2026 Prince of Wales Island-Ketchikan Gateway Borough-Annette Island- 310 PM AKST Mon Feb 2 2026 ...UNSEASONABLY WARM PATTERN TO BRING MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN... There is increasing confidence that an atmospheric river will bring periods of moderate to heavy rainfall aimed primarily at the southern panhandle tonight and lasting into Wednesday. Total rainfall through Wednesday morning could range from 2.5 to 4 inches with around 80% confidence. The heaviest rainfall is expected to occur Tuesday morning through Tuesday afternoon, with a second surge Wednesday morning. Snow levels rising up to 5000 to 7000 ft through the event combined with saturated ground from rainfall over the weekend could lead to enhanced snowmelt and runoff and contribute to rapid river/stream rises. Localized ponding of water is likely, however no widespread flooding is expected across the area at this time.
