Additional snow accumulations around 1 to 3 inches with a storm total around 2 to 5 inches. The highest amounts will be along the western facing slopes. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations 6 inches or more are possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...In Maryland, Eastern Garrett and Western Garrett Counties. In West Virginia, Western Grant, Western Mineral, and Western Pendleton Counties. * WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 10 AM EST this morning. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...For the Winter Weather Advisory, plan on snow covered and slippery road conditions along with significant reduction in visibility. Snow and blowing snow will reduce visibility around one-quarter mile at times, causing near blizzard conditions. Very strong winds could cause extensive tree damage as well. Wind chills will be between 0 and 10 degrees below zero through this morning for most areas. The Tuesday morning commute will be impacted. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy snow could bring significant impacts the evening of New Year's Eve into New Year's Day.
