Bursts of heavy snow are expected within the snow showers which combined with the gusty winds are expected to result in rapidly reduced visibilities and periods of whiteout conditions. Quickly dropping temperatures behind the front may also result in a flash freeze on roads that either remain wet from rainfall or become wet from snowfall, leading to slippery roads and hazardous travel conditions.
