Total snow accumulations 4 to 8 inches at lower elevations, and 8 to 18 inches above 6500 ft. The avalanche danger is HIGH. The combination of heavy snowfall and wind are overloading a weak snowpack. * WHERE...The White Cloud, Smoky, Boulder, and Pioneer Mountains, including the mountains east of Smiley Creek and near Galena Summit, Baker Creek, Trail Creek Summit, and Triumph. * WHEN...Until 7 AM MST Friday. * IMPACTS...Human-triggered avalanches large enough to bury people, snap trees, and destroy structures are very likely. Avalanches may strike roadways, trails, and buildings in the valley bottom. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Very dangerous avalanche conditions exist. Travel in avalanche terrain is not recommended. Stay off and out from below steep slopes, slopes steeper than about 30 degrees.
