-# HEADLINE -------------------- FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR THE POTENTIAL COMPROMISE OF THE CALEDONIA-LEWISTON LEVEE ON THE WISCONSIN RIVER REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING # DETAILS -------------------- WHAT Flash flooding due to the potential compromise of the Caledonia-Lewiston Levee. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has indicated that the Calendonia-Lewiston Levee along the Wisconsin River may become compromised as the river levels rise. If this takes place, a rapid inundation of water is expected along the south and west side of the river. The City of Portage is not anticipated to be impacted by a potential compromise of the Caledonia-Lewiston Levee. WHERE A portion of south central Wisconsin, including the following counties, Columbia and Sauk along the south and west side of the Wisconsin River. Areas affected include, but are not limited to the Pine Island State Wildlife Area and portions of Highway 33. The City of Portage is not anticipated to be impacted by a potential compromise of the Caledonia-Lewiston Levee. WHEN Through Sunday morning. IMPACTS A compromised levee may result in flash flooding of low-lying areas along the Caledonia-Lewiston Levee.
